Sidari is one of the most well known tourist resorts of the island. Once a small fishing village, it developed in the 1980's to become one of the island's most popular resorts. You will find it bustling with tourists, especially in peak weeks and it has also become a permanent home to many British people. The beach of Sidari boasts a blue flag not far from the famous sight–seeing attraction of Canal d' Amour with its breath-taking beautiful bays.
Hotels, apartments, studios, restaurants, bars, tourist offices, super markets, pharmacy, cash-point machines etc. can be found in the town centre. The surrounding villages show the tourists another aspect of Corfu, where the hospitable locals enjoy some peace and quiet. Karousades, Peroulades, Antiperni and Kavallouri are just a few to name, where the Corfiot architecture is outstanding.
